About The Board

The Board is a free, public contractor directory. We built it for two groups of people: homeowners who need work done and don't know who to call, and contractors who do good work and deserve to be found.

That's it. No gimmicks. No lead fees. No pay-to-rank schemes where the contractor who pays the most shows up first. If you're licensed, insured, and you do the work, you belong on The Board.

Why we built this

Finding a contractor shouldn't feel like a gamble. You search online, you get a list of names, you have no idea who's licensed, who's insured, or who's going to show up on Tuesday and actually finish the job. We've been on both sides of that problem.

The Board puts real information in front of homeowners — licensing requirements, cost ranges, what to look for, what to ask. And it gives contractors a place to be visible without paying someone $50 per lead for their own customers.

The Forge builds tools for tradespeople and the businesses that serve them. We're not a tech company pretending to understand construction. We build because we know the work, and we know the industry deserves better tools than what it's been given.
