All contractor listings on The Board are submitted by the contractors themselves. When a contractor lists their business, they confirm that they are licensed and insured. We rely on that confirmation.

We do not verify licenses

The Board does not independently verify license numbers, insurance policies, certifications, or business registrations. We do not contact state licensing boards, review insurance binders, or audit any contractor's credentials before publishing a listing.

Do your own diligence

Before hiring any contractor found through The Board — or any directory — homeowners should:

• Request a current certificate of insurance.
• Check references and recent work.
• Get a written scope of work and contract before any work begins.
• Never pay the full amount up front.

The Board makes no representation or warranty regarding the accuracy of any listing, the qualifications of any contractor, or the quality of any work performed. We are a directory, not a referral service, not a general contractor, and not a party to any agreement between homeowner and contractor.
